How to Set Up a Match Play Game

What is and how to set up a Match Play game?

What is a Match Play game?

A Match Play game is a game in which each hole is worth 1 point.  If you win the hole, you win a point.  If you tie, the point is halved.

Once you are up by more points than the number of holes that remain, the match is over.  For example: if after 12 holes you are 7-up with 6 to play, the match is won, "7 and 6."

If you are up by the same number of holes remaining, it is called "dormie."  For example: if after 15 holes, you are 3-up (with 3 holes left to play), it is called "dormie."  You only need to win or tie one more hole to win the whole match. The other player must win all remaining holes to tie.

Match Play is only played by 2+ players. This version of SwingU only allows individual Match Play. We have not built the ability to pair two teams out of a foursome.
